Description

The National Research Council’s (NRC) Flight Research Laboratory (FRL) operates a Convair 580 aircraft for flight research. As the aircraft is frequently modified and/or operated in a manner different to the original design purpose, engineering support from the holder of the aircraft’s Type design and intellectual property is frequently required. As a result, the FRL requires a 5-year Standing Offer to provide engineering services and support related to the Convair 580 aircraft. This work will involve: Order of raw materials, machining of raw materials for hardpoint and pylon, engineering studies and/or modifications to the Convair 580 to support external sensors, on-going maintenance/repair and technical support, engineering analysis for flight loads, aerodynamics, flight test, Component manufacture and/or provision of design/manufacturing data to NRC, pylon completion, fit out, finishing and procurement of additional components/parts necessary for continued operation of the Convair 580. Additional services/parts not listed may be required to support the modification of the Convair 580.
